Audit Program Development and Training
Industry: Chemicals (petrochemicals)

Helped the company design and develop their internal auditing program. The intent of the program was to enable senior managers to conduct environmental, health, and safety audits of their own facilities and departments on a more frequent basis than their more formal, external audit program. A full-day training session was held with senior management to help prepare them for their new roles as auditors. Issues considered during the program design included scope of topics covered, frequency of audits, facilities and departments to audit, reporting, corrective action development and tracking. Training topics included audit structure, methodology, preparation, interviewing techniques, writing findings, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions.
